Java Lead Developer (IJSE026941-56)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Java Lead Developer with 7+ years of hands-on experience to design and develop backend modules for our feature management capability within the decisioning platform. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including product managers, user experience personnel, and architects, to drive software platform architecture and execution. As a technical leader, you will mentor junior engineers, champion engineering best practices, raise delivery quality standards, address architectural requirements, and proactively eliminate security vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Java Lead Developer on our team, you will:

• Design and develop robust backend modules for the decisioning platform.
• Collaborate closely with product managers to evaluate feature priorities and real-world usage scenarios.
• Work alongside user experience specialists to understand personas within usage scenarios and optimize system workflows.
• Drive the architecture for the software platform capability in active collaboration with enterprise architects.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, providing technical leadership, code reviews, and architectural guidance.
• Continuously elevate engineering practices to enhance software efficiency, reliability, and serviceability.
• Evaluate new design specifications, enforce quality standards, and address architectural concerns proactively.
• Analyze, identify, and proactively remediate security vulnerabilities across application components.
• Continuously explore, learn, and evaluate emerging technologies in related ecosystem domains.
• Demonstrate technical leadership through publications, presentations, white papers, and industry event participation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Total Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of proven experience across software architecture, design, development, and testing.
• Hands-on Delivery: Strong hands-on development expertise with a verifiable ability to deliver complex, high-impact use cases.
• Core Java & Frameworks: Advanced proficiency in Java (Java 17 preferred), Microservices architecture, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Maven/Gradle, and Git version control.
• Testing & Quality: Solid proficiency in writing comprehensive unit and integration tests using frameworks such as JUnit or TestNG.
• API & Web Services: Deep hands-on experience developing high-performance REST and gRPC-based web services.
• Microservices Architecture: Strong understanding of microservices architecture principles, distributed patterns, and design models.
• Application Security: In-depth knowledge of implementing application-level security, including robust authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Practical working knowledge of Docker containers and Kubernetes deployments.
• Database Management: Sound knowledge and experience working with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Process Mindset: Quality-first mindset with strict adherence to clean code standards, engineering governance, and Agile/Scaled Agile methodologies.
• System Design & Modeling: Strong foundation in software design models, database structures, non-functional requirements (NFR) documentation, and product specifications.
• Communication & Leadership: Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate architectural decisions with architects and align strategy with engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with real-time data streaming architectures and event-based communication patterns (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Track record of performance tuning enterprise-grade applications for high throughput and ultra-low latency.
• Ability to deliver compelling product demonstrations and technical walk-throughs to technical and business stakeholders.
• Proficiency in collaborative development workflows utilizing GitHub.
• ISTQB or equivalent industry-recognized software certification.

Education

• Any Graduate or Any Post Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
